This beautiful miss turned 8 last month and is looking forward to a baptism next month. We were able to take advantage of the time in between to get some beautiful, winter baptism images at the Logan Temple.
Getting winter images can be beautiful, but as you guessed, it can also be cold. Here are some of the secrets we used during this session to get beautiful images, without freezing this little miss!
First off, we watched the weather. The week before this shoot was terribly cold! (So was the week after) Since taking pictures at 8 degrees didn't sound appealing, we waited until a storm came, in and warmed things up. Watching the weather is a must for winter shoots!
Second, we schedule a quick session. Bitty photo sessions are a great option for getting beautiful images quickly, and they are inexpensive. By scheduling a quick session we kept to the most important shots and were able to get lots of beautiful images to choose from.
Third, I had mom bring a warm fleece blanket that was large enough to fully wrap up in. In between shots, and during test shots, this blanket stayed on, only coming off long enough to get the needed shots before we immediately put it back on. A warm blanket that doesn't interfere with hair or clothes works best.
Winters in Cache Valley are beautiful, and often cold. These few tips are so helpful in getting beautiful photos year round.
